European football governing body UEFA has reacted after English Premier league star Son Heung-Min captained South Korea national team to the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar, following their impressive 2-1 comeback victory over Portugal national team on Friday.
Son Heung-Min was given the captain armband by his coach, and he was able to play a vital role in his team’s hard-fought victory over Portugal national team.
The Tottenham Hotspur football club star led his team’s attack alongside Gue-Sung Cho and Jae-Sung Lee and the trio were superb in the game.
Portugal national team broke the deadlock through Ricardo Horta in the 5th minute after receiving an assist from Diogo Jota and Kim Young-Gwon equalized in the 27th minute to end the first half 1-1.
Hee-Chan Hwang scored the winning goal for South Korea National team in the 90th minute after receiving an assist from Son Heung-Min.
The victory over Portugal national team now means South Korea national team have finished at the second spot of their group table, and they have booked their spot in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Son Heung-Min was unable to hide his joy after guiding Uruguay national team to the next round of the FIFA World Cup, and he broke down in tears immediately.
