ATHLETHICS- #London Marathon | NBA- LeBron James Statement ‘No’ | TENNIS- CARLOS ALCARAZ WINS 2023 BARCELONA OPEN
1. ATHLETHICS -MARATHON
London Marathon: Sifan Hassan stages dramatic victory as Kelvin Kiptum wins in 2nd-fastest time.
Hassan, who was 28 seconds behind the leaders at the 25km mark in her debut marathon, burst clear in a sprint finish to win in a time of 2 hours, 18 minutes and 33 seconds.
Despite making a mess of collecting a drink from a water station and almost being hit by a race motorcycle, the 30-year-old recovered and even offered rival Yalemzerf Yehualaw, last year’s winner, a swig from her bottle.
‘Can’t believe it’
However, the 23-year-old Kiptum broke the course record in an astonishing time of 2:01:25.
2. NBA –
LeBron James On Whether He Tried Making A Statement To Dillon Brooks In Game 3 Of Lakers-Grizzlies: ‘No’.
LeBron James and the latest NBA player to try and become one of his agitators had pretty different games on Saturday night. The Los Angeles Lakers picked up a 111-101 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in L.A., giving them a 2-1 series lead over the 2-seed in the Western Conference behind 25 points, nine rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block from their future Hall of Fame inductee.
3. TENNIS –
CARLOS ALCARAZ WINS 2023 BARCELONA OPEN.
Carlos Alcaraz has finally succesfully defended a trophy as the Spaniard eased past Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3 6-4 to win the 2023 Barcelona Open.
Alcaraz won the event last year as well and it was just a good conclusion to a really solid week from the Spaniard. Like last year, this match was largely unproblematic for the Spaniard as he was able to get it done in straight sets. It featured all the signature stuff he generally does when he plays on clay court like winners, good defence and drop shots.
