There has been a drastic change in the peaceful coexistence among residents of Osun State, following incessant actions by thugs who are being considered to be politically sponsored.
Barely 24 hours after the inauguration of the administration of the new Executive Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, there have been serial attempts by some transporters who were being suspected to be members of the ruling party in the state, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have been making attempts to hijack leadership of the various transporters unions in the state.
Few hours after the official swearing-in of the new Governor Ademola Adeleke, suspected members of National Union of Road Transportation Union (NURTW), Okada Express, ANAKOWA and Road Transport Employee Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Association of Tricycle Riders and some other transportation unions who followed the new Governor to the venue of his inauguration, returned to their various parks to stage war against the current leadership of their union, in attempts to hijack power from them.
Up till now, there are heavy shootings around Old Garage, Osogbo where attempts are bing made, to hijack power from the Transporter boss in the Lagos Motor Park who is popularly known as Asiri Eniba.
Situation at Aregbe Motor Park along Osogbo-Gbongan-Ibadan Road is nothing different, as Oke-Fia motor park area has also been made non conducive for the residents of the state.
There are also brandishing of cutlasses and other weapons among transport leaders along Osogbo to Ikirun road which play host to Ota-Efun Garage, as situation remains restive along Osogbo to Ilesha road, where Ilesha Garage is situated in the state capital.
Residents were seen sending warning notices to friends and relatives on various social media platforms.
